Kermit Charles Schlegel, 85, died December 7, 2009 in his Richmond Township residence.
He was married March 31, 1945 to Minnie Vinona (Moyer) Schlegel, who died February 1, 2009.
Born in Fleetwood, PA on October 29, 1924, he was a son of the late Raymond and Martha (Bard) Schlegel.
He had been a self-employed farmer since 1945 and was a member of the Fleetwood Grange for 62 years.
Kermit was also employed by several business' as a truck driver, including Charles Care Milk Hauler, Centerport and East Penn Manufacturing, Blandon.
Other employment includes Parish Steel, Reading; Red Cheek, Fleetwood and Hamburg Bleach and Dye Company.
Kermit was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.
He was a graduate of Fleetwood High School.
Kermit is survived by three children: Kenneth L., husband of Sharon A. (Rigg) Schlegel of Richmond Township; Diane L. (Schlegel), wife of Glenn D. Epting of Greenwich Township and Dolores A. (Schlegel), wife of Curtis G. Kramer of Reinholds.
He is also survived by five grandchildren: Heather E. Mengel, Keith A. Schlegel, Kyle A. Schlegel, Chad C. Kramer and Tyler C. Kramer and 10 great grandchildren.
Kermit was predeceased by a brother, Wilson I. Schlegel.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 East Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am until time of services in the church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Richmond Township.
