Kenneth H. Umbenhauer

Kenneth Harold "Kenny" Umbenhauer, 65, of Centerport and formerly of Ephrata, died March 11, 2007 at 6:45 pm in the Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since earlier that morning.

He was the husband of Beverly Ann Spinka-Umbenhauer, whom he married August 31, 2001.

Born November 8, 1941 in Stouchsburg, Berks County, he was a son of the late Warren C. and Edna A. (Stamm) Umbenhauer.

He was a 1960 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School.

Kenneth attended Zion's Church, Perry Township.

He was a member of the Marion Township Rod & Gun Club and the Newmanstown Athletic Club.

Kenneth was employed 40 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Local 542, International Union of Operating Engineers, retiring in October, 2006.

He is also survived by a daughter, Roná L. (Umbenhauer) wife of Christopher L. Martin of Terre Hill, Lancaster County and four step-daughters; Teresa M. (Schlott) wife of Brad Hepner of Hamburg, Jacquelyn A. (Schlott) wife of Stephen C. Erb of Hockessin, Del., Jennifer L. (Schlott) Frees, companion of Randy Kline of Shartelsville and Christina L. (Schlott) wife of James Crawford of Pottstown.

Other survivors include a sister, Elsie (Umbenhauer) Mathews of Elkhart, Indiana; three grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and one step great granddaughter.

Kenneth is also survived by his beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.

Services will be Friday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale with the Rev. Randy A. Bond officiating. Viewings will be held Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Friday 9:30 am until time of services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
