Kenneth Edward Shuman, 80, of Temple, died January 20, 2013 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.
He was the husband of Jane M. (Hinkel) Shuman, whom he married July 18, 1953.
Born in West Reading on December 13, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Annie (Weidenhammer) Shuman.
He was a 1950 graduate of Ontelaunee High School.
Kenneth worked as a millwright for 31 years with Textile Machine Works / Rockwell International, before retiring in 1994.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Kenneth is also survived by two children: Scott K., husband of Mary F. (Smith) Shuman of Reading and Kristen B. (Shuman), wife of Rev. Aaron R. Payson of Worcester, Mass.
Other survivors include two siblings: Dorothy (Shuman), widow of Howard N. Kline of Northumberland Township and Donald F., husband of Emily (Yeager) Shuman of Shoemakersville.
There are also two grandchildren surviving: Morgaine E. Payson and Charles R. Payson.
He was predeceased by seven siblings: Charles, James, Stewart, Harold, Samuel, Anna and Edna.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of services.
