Kenneth B. Schmehl

Kenneth B. Schmehl, 77, died Jan. 23 at 10:41 a.m. in his Laureldale residence.

He was the husband of Marguerite M. (Heffner) Schmehl.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert and Frances S. (Steffe) Schmehl.

Schmehl had been employed for 44 years by Reading Co., later Conrail Corp., retiring in June 1988.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Schmehl was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is also survived by two sons, Robert W., Hamburg, and Michael K., Laureldale.

Other survivors include a brother, Warren, Reading; and two sisters, Shirley (Schmehl) Eshbach, Miami, Fla., and Gloria (Schmehl) McGovern, Sinking Spring.

There are also two grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter.

Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
