Kenneth L. Miller

Kenneth L. Miller, 86 of Hamburg died April 27 th , 2014 in Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. He was the husband of LaRue J. (Reber) Miller to whom he was married to for 48 years. Kenneth was born in Hamburg and was the son of the late Thomas and Virgie I. (Schappell) Miller He attended Hamburg Schools and was an Army veteran of WWII. He was also a trained Civil Defense coordinator. Kenneth was the owner and operator of T.A. Miller & Sons Cement, Inc. for 46 years prior to his retirement. He was a life member of the following: Union Fire Company # 1, Hamburg, the Shoemakersville Fire Company, and the Hamburg Game Association. Kenneth was a 50 year member of the Goodwill Fire Company, Temple and a Charter Member of the Centerport Fire Company.  He was also a member of The Hamburg Historical Society. Kenneth was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his children, Donna L. wife of Paul Silk, Mohrsville, Suzanne L. wife of Ronald Baylor, Hamburg, Lorie L. Phillips-Galvin wife of Gary Galvin, Sinking Spring, Michael S.Phillips, Ashburn, Virginia, Kimberly D. wife of Dennis Fink, Schuylkill Haven and Michele Amadoro companion of Troy Seitzinger, Hamburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great, great granddaughter. Kenneth was predeceased by 4 brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4 th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg with full Military Honors provided by Ray Master Post #217, Topton, PA.
