Kenneth J. Betz

Kenneth J. Betz, 91, formerly of Wyomissing, died March 22, 2009 at 5:50 p.m. in ManorCare, Spring Township.

He was the husband of the late Vera R.A. (Angstadt) Betz who died November 12, 2003.

Born February 18, 1918 in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Mary M. (Manderbach) Betz.

Kenneth was a 1935 graduate of Reading High School a 1939 graduate of Albright College, receiving a B.S. in Chemistry.

He was employed as a supervisor of Analytical Labs by NGK Metals Corporation, Temple for 26 years, retiring in 1983.

Kenneth was a member of Community Evangelical Church, Sinking Spring.

He was past President and Treasurer for Reading Chemists Club and a member of Society for Applied Spectroscopy.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol J. Tercha of Womelsdorf and Cheryl B. Siatkowski of Wyomissing.

In addition, there are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren surviving.

Kenneth was predeceased by a son Bruce K. Betz, January 13, 1993.

Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A viewing will be held Thursday 12:30-1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
