Kenneth N. Hartman

Kenneth Norman Hartman, 75 of Spring Township, was put into eternal rest with God, February 28, 2012 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of LaRue G. (Bertram) Hartman whom he married October 2, 1993.

Born August 25, 1936 in Reading, he was a son of the late William H.T. and Frances R. (Valentine) Hartman.

Kenneth was employed as a bus driver with Reading Bus and Barta Bus Companies for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Goodwill Beneficial Association and Young Men's Democratic Association.

An avid bowler, he bowled on a league in Reading for years. He also was on a city church dart league.

Kenneth played semi-professional baseball for Baltimore Orioles Organization.

He was the current president of Barta Federal Credit Union.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: K. Scott, husband of Kay S. (Loeper) Hartman of Alsace Township; Keith B., husband of Heather L. (Emes) Hartman of St. Lawrence; Kevin J., husband of Jennifer D. (Werner) Hartman of Cumru Township; Jeffrey S. Weinhold of Reading and Lori A. (Weinhold) Bione of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include three sisters, Judith Hoffmaster of Reading, Jean Madera of Northmont and Janet Foose of Reading.

There are eight grandchildren: Kendra L., Kyle S., Alexis L., Nicole A., Brandon M., Kyra E. Hartman, Erin M. and Morgan C. Weinhold.

Kenneth was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Harold and William Hartman and a sister, Alice Cluwett.

Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
