Kenneth R. Groff

Kenneth R. Groff Sr., 81, Wyomissing, died June 4 in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had been a patient since May 17.

His wife, Anne E. (Stapleton) Groff, died Nov. 16, 1992.

Born in Laureldale, he was a son of the late Henry and Esther (Seidel) Groff.

Groff was employed for 40 years by UGI Corp., working as a pipe fitter for 21 years and in dispatch for 19 years until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

Groff was a 1942 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Groff was a life member of Goodwill Fire Company and Central Fire Company, Laureldale.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Jr., Hilton Head, S.C., and a daughter, Patricia A. (Groff) Pazdrick, Wyomissing.

Other survivors include a brother, Richard H., Fort Myers, Fla.

There also are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
