Kenneth C. Hart, 89, of Wyomissing, PA entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2013 at the Reading Hospital.

Born on July 22, 1923 in Seyfert, PA, he was the son of the late John O. and M. Helen (Ruppert) Hart.

In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred E. (Hoyer) Hart, he is survived by a daughter, Janice E. (Hart) Schreiner, widow of Ronald J. Schreiner, and a son, John W. Hart, husband of Donna (Benevit) Hart. Millie and Ken traveled extensively to attend many sporting events involving their grandchildren: Kim E. (Schreiner) Makosch, wife of Christopher, of Wyomissing, Wendy L. (Schreiner) Holmes of Lansdale, Shaun M. Hart of Lincoln Park, husband of Jessica, and Jason A. Hart of West Lawn, husband of Kathleen. Ken was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Eric and Lauren Maksoch, and Grace, Elaina, Caroline, James, and Zara Hart. He is also survived by one brother, Russel of Exeter Township and was predeceased by three brothers: Harold, Corson and John.

Ken graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1942 where he lettered in track. He was employed as a toolmaker for the Parish Division of Dana Corporation for 33 years until his retirement in 1982.

Ken was a member of St. John's Reformed Church in Sinking Spring and a former member of Christ Church UCC in Temple where he was an Elder on Consistory and a very active participant in church administration and activities. He was also a member of the Pagoda Ramblers Camping Club and enjoyed travel, golf, round dancing and square dancing. In WWII, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 bomber and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in a mission over Naples, Italy.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Avenue Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
