Kenneth Richard Bender

Kenneth Richard Bender, 45, of 801 Las Vegas Drive, Temple, Pa 19560 died of natural causes April 20th at 2:38 p.m. in the Emergency Room of The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Cheryl L. (Wrentzel) Bender.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a son of George R. Bender of Mount Penn and Shirley Ann (Smith) Cruz-Cosme of Reading.

He was a 1976 graduate of Mount Penn High School.

Bender was a USMC Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of Community Evangelical Church, Sinking Spring.

Bender was a gun salesman for a number of years at the Army & Navy Store, Muhlenberg Township, last working September 1, 2000.

He is also survived by three sons, Jeffery M. Bender of Sturbridge, Mass., Timothy A. and Jonathan R. both at home.

Other survivors include two brothers, Richard A. of Pottstown and Karl J. of Mount Penn and two sisters, Debra A. (Bender) Guinther of Reading and Judy L. (Bender) Amato of Exeter Township.

Services will be Thursday at 12:00 noon in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Richard W. Kohl officiating. Viewing Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
