Kathy A. Rusek

Kathy A. Rusek, 67, passed away on June 21, 2022, at the Lutheran Home in Topton. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jacqueline (Leek) Potteiger. Kathy graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1972.

She was the mother to Blaise Rusek, Jr. (Emely) and Kelly Hoffner, grandmother to Olivia and Gavin Hoffner and the not yet born Cattleya Rusek.

Meaningful words from a song by Vince Gill, "only you could know the pain… go rest high on that mountain… your work on earth is done." Kathy's family mourns the loss but rejoices in the grace of a promised life ever after, free of earthly pain.

Favorite memories of Kathy, besides raising her two children, are her time working at home with daycare and then office work at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta where she made many lifelong, supportive friends. Recently she was blessed with the news of a new grandbaby whom she did not get to meet but loved her so much anyway and will always be looking down upon her with love.

Survivors include her children, grandchildren, siblings and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Epler's Church, 1151 W. Leesport Road, Leesport PA 19533.

Memorial donations may be made to Epler's Church (her home church) or New Jerusalem Zion UCC, 1456 Krumsville Road, Lenhartsville PA 19534 (her current church).
