Kathryn M. Kauffman

Kathryn M. Kauffman, 95, formerly of Temple and Mohnton, died December 6, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Most recently she had resided at Berks Leisure Living, Leesport, where she had been a resident since July 2011.

She was the wife of Elmer A. Kauffman who died January 2002.

Born July 23, 1917 in Bern Township, she was a daughter of the late Franklin P. and Carrie (Althouse) Blatt.

She attended Bryland Beauty School, Reading and operated a Beauty Shop in West Reading for many years.

Kathryn was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

She was also a member of Ontelaunee Grange.

Kathryn enjoyed quilting at Epler's Church, Leesport as well as with the Ontelaunee Grange.

She loved crocheting and baking Christmas cookies.

Surviving is her son, Luther B., husband of Rose Marie Kauffman of Mohnton.

Other survivors include three grandchildren, Randy, husband of April Kauffman; Michael Kauffman and Kelly Kauffman and 6 great grandchildren.

Kathryn was predeceased by ten siblings: W. John Blatt, Wilson Blatt, Elmer Blatt, Arthur Blatt, Luther Blatt, Florence Becker, Laura Reeser, Annie Hain, Helen Blatt and Sara Latshaw.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
