Kathryn Mae (Barrell) Koller Kunkel, 89, died February 11, 2013 in ManorCare, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the wife of Luther C. Kunkel of Wyomissing and was predeceased by her first husband, Edwin Charles Koller, who died October 22, 1981.

Born in Richmond Township, Pa on May 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Herman O. and Clara E. (Bieber) Barrell.

She was a 1941 graduate of Fleetwood High School.

Kathryn was employed a number of years with the former Jay-El Manufacturing Company, Fleetwood.

She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shoemakersville and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

Kathryn was a member of the International Woman's Garment Workers Union and a member of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

As a young woman, she enjoyed going to the races. Later in life, she enjoyed bus trips, crocheting, knitting, spending time with her husband and baby sitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by two children: Constance K., wife of Kenneth N. Henry, of Blandon and Galen E., husband of Janet L. Koller of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also two step-children surviving: Linda Jones of Spring Township and Patricia, wife of Scott Parks of Wyomissing.

Other survivors include five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Kathryn was predeceased by a step-son, Larry Kunkel and three brothers: George N. Barrell, Lee H. Barrell and Ray N. Barrell.

Services will be held Friday at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 E Arch St, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Richmond Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, at the above address.
