Kathryn C. Holden

Kathryn C. Holden, 78 of Upper Bern Township died in her residence on October 15, 2015. She was the widow of James H. Holden who died August 5, 2011. Kathryn was born in Phillipsburg, NJ. and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Rose (Cannon) Caton. She was a 1955 graduate of St. Philip & St. James High School and a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Reading, PA. Kathryn worked 44 years as a registered nurse, last working for Advantage Home Care, and Berks Visiting Nurse Association as a hospice nurse. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg. Kathryn was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites of the Washington Province. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia wife of Gregory Shearer, Fleetwood, Barbara wife of Keith Peterka, Bethlehem, two sons, Stephen and Timothy Jones both of Upper Bern Township, two grandchildren PFC Chelsea wife of Staff Sgt. Bryan Wimmer, Oahu, Hawaii, Samuel Peterka, Bethlehem, and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Wimmer, Oahu, Hawaii, One sister, Joan Grieco, Arnold, MD, three stepchildren, William Holden, Louisville, Kentucky, Beverly Togno, Easton, PA and Barbara Dorcas, Matamoras also survives her and six step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. A viewing will be held in the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Phillipsburg, NJ and will be at the convenience of the family.
