Kathryn Bertolet Golden, 64, died January 30, 2012 in her Wyomissing residence. She was the wife of Albert W. Golden, III; they were married 44 years. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Magda Y. Bertolet, Wyomissing and the late Alfred M. Bertolet. A graduate of Linden Hall School for Girls, Lititz, she attended Briarcliff College, Briarcliff Manor, NY. An avid bridge player she was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and the Vero Beach Bridge Club, Vero Beach, FL. A life long equestrian, she served as District Commissioner of the Berks Pony Club for several terms in the 1980's. In recent years her passion for horses continued with her grandchildren at the family's Double G Stables, Lititz. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, fishing, swimming, and summer vacations with her family at Lake Sunapee, NH and winters at her home in Vero Beach. A member of the Train Collectors Association, she created a different Lionel Trains layout each Christmas season filing her living room. She shared her husband's passion for antique automobiles especially her 1954 Corvette and 1947 Pontiac wood bodied station wagon. She was a member of the Berkshire Country Club for 40 years. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughters, Kate G., wife of Laurence M. Goodman; and Olivia B., wife of Matthew T. Golden; and two siblings, Nadine B., wife of John P. Weidenhammer; and Sime B., husband of Jill A. Bertolet, all of Wyomissing. There are three grand children, Max G. Goodman, Elizabeth B. Goodman and Vivian K. Golden. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with a visitation from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.
