Kathryn C. Gerhart

Kathryn C. (Kramer) Gerhart, 93, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in her Wyomissing residence.

She was the wife of Sylvester G. Gerhart with whom she shared 70 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.

She was born in Wyomissing the daughter of the late Kermit and Helen (Withers) Kramer.

Kathryn was a graduate of Wilson High School.

She was a longtime member of Bern Reformed Church, in Leesport.

Kathryn was employed for over 25 years as manager at The Bavarian Pretzel Store at the Berkshire Mall, until her retirement.

As a skilled tap dancer in her youth, she performed with the Catherine Behney Dance Studio of Reading. They traveled all over the East Cost performing at fares and carnivals. Kathryn also cherished camping trips in her family's RV, particularly those to California, which she found especially enjoyable. Additionally, she was a devoted Phillies fan, frequently attending preseason camps to support her team.

She is survived by two children, Sharon L. Emerick and Jody L. Gerhart, partner to Mary Shuman; six grandchildren; Jeremy Gerhart of Sinking Spring, Sandra Emerick of Wyomissing, Alicia Brensinger of Cressona, David Emerick (Kristi) Sinking Spring, Nicholas Gerhart of Sinking Spring, and Samantha Stafford (Steven) of Richlands North Carolina; and eleven great-grandchildren; Makayla, Aiden, Addison, Aubrey, Jaxson, Brady, Lucah, Oaklee Rae, Tripp, Sailor, and Rallye; and several nieces.

Kathryn was predeceased by her daughter Linda D. Gerhart in 1953 and two siblings, Mary Cuccinotta and Omey Auge.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Reading Tower Hospice Association: Teresa, Mary, and Mary E. who were wonderful in making their mother as comfortable as possible.

At Kathryn’s request, services will be private. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
