Kathryn M. Bolton, 89 of Hamburg died October 22nd in Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven. She was the widow of Samuel W. Bolton, SR. who died March 18th, 1989. Kathryn was born in Port Clinton and was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Caroline (Marks) Degler. She worked for Haymaker Sports Wear, Laureldale for twelve years as an inspector. She then worked for the Reading Blue Mountain Railroad as a cook on train trips and also as a car attendant for many years. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Behler-Heim Post 637, past treasurer of the women's society of her church and a Sunday school teacher, member of the church choir and secretary of the church Sunday school. She was also a member of the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens and Shoemakersville Fire Company, ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Laureldale Senior Citizens. Kathryn is survived by two sons: Samuel W. Bolton, JR., Deer Lake and David A. Bolton, Tilden Township, two grandsons, Samuel W. Bolton III, Chapin, SC. and Joel Bolton, Stewartstown, PA, two step- grandsons, Todd Bolton, Tilden Township and Lance Bolton, Hamburg. She is also survived by a step-granddaughter, Carol Conrath, Schuylkill County and a step-grandson, Owen Christman, Wilkes-Barre, 4 great-grandchildren, Tristyn and Olivia Bolton, Chapin, SC, Gabriel and Lily Bolton, Stewartstown, PA. Additionally a sister Dorothy Hepner, Orwigsburg and a brother Arnold Degler, Shoemakersville survives Kathryn. Two brothers, Ralph and Guy Degler and a sister Joan Himmelberger, predeceased her in death. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
