Kathleen Marie Jacobs

Kathleen M. Jacobs, 88, of Wyomissing, passed away on April 18, 2026. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Charles G. and Marie Katherine (Hersh) Lutz. Kathy was the loving spouse of Victor M. Jacobs, Jr., with whom she shared 49 years of marriage until his passing in 2017.

Kathy was a 1957 graduate of William Allen High School. She furthered her education at Kutztown State Teachers College, earning her Bachelor of Science in Education. Over the course of more than 30 years, she devoted her career to teaching and inspiring students, working for the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, Governor Mifflin, Berks County Intermediate Unit, Reading Area Community College, and Kutztown University. Beyond her teaching role, Kathy also coached the Wyomissing High School field hockey team.

With a zest for life like no other, Kathy was always on the go—helping others, traveling, skiing with the Flying Dutchman, visiting museums, or attending shows. She took great joy in hosting dinner parties for friends and had a special love for baking for those she cared about. Kathy loved celebrating the 4th of July in Wyomissing and hosting Thanksgiving for her entire family for over 35 years.. Above all, she cherished her role as a grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Monte Jacobs (Kathy), of West Lawn, and Betsy Dries (Joel), of Wyomissing. Kathy will be missed by her grandchildren: David and Kylie Dries and Giavanna and Cecily Jacobs, as well as her sister, Edith St. Clair, and her sister-in-law, Helen Goetz. In addition, Kathy is survived by three nieces and three nephews.

Kathy was predeceased by her brother-in-laws, Jack St. Clair and Mike Goetz.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading. Friends and family will be received from 4-5:30PM with a time of sharing beginning at 5:30PM. Guests are encouraged to wear uplifting colors in honor of a life well lived.
