Kathleen May (Moore) Manning, 81, died April 22, 2007 at 3:50 am in her Reading residence.

She was the wife of John P. Manning.

Born July 23, 1925 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Alice (Walsh) Moore.

She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Kathleen was a 1943 graduate of Reading Catholic High School and attended Reading Muhlenberg Vocational Technical Institute for Nursing.

She was employed 10 years with CK Whitner Department Store, Reading and later employed a number of years as a licensed practical nurse with St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading.

Kathleen was a life-time Democrat and a former member of the Civil Service Board.

She is also survived by two sons, Joseph J. of St. Petersburg, Florida and George M. of Pottsville.

Other survivors include a sister, Alice F. (Moore) Jones of St. Petersburg, Florida.

There are also four grandchildren, Alicia, Bruce, Matthew and Brian; five great grandchildren, Alexis, Christina, Daniel, Bruce III and Robert and one great-great grandchild.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Jill Ann (MacKnight) Manning, who died November 13, 1997.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:45 am in St. Peter's R.C. Church, Reading. A viewing will be held in the church Thursday 9:45am until time of mass. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Childrens Home of Reading, 1010 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
