Kathleen "Kathy" Bailey

Kathleen “Kathy” F. Bailey, 81, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026 at Columbia Cottage surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Ralph L. Bailey. They shared 58 years together.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Dietrich) Fitzgerald. Kathy graduated from Reading High School, and worked as a Secretary for John Hancock Insurance as well as at Albright College. She was an active member of Calvary United Church of Christ, participating in the choir and the Consistory. Kathy also enjoyed reading, and traveling, especially trips with Ralph to visit New England.

In addition to her husband, Ralph, Kathy’s memory will be cherished by her son, Timothy Bailey; her sister, Rosemary Slegal, and her husband, Mike; and her loving dog, Zelda. She is predeceased by her sister, Patty. 

The Celebration of Life will be held on August 29, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Calvary UCC at 640 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. The burial of her urn will be held privately in Charles Evans Cemetery.
