Kathleen A. Castner

Kathleen A. Castner, 71, died of cancer at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the beloved mother of Karen E. (Castner), wife of John Kraft, and the late Matthew Castner; beloved grandmother to Justin G. Coughlin, Dalton E. Coughlin, Elizabeth K. Coughlin, Johnnessa C. Kraft, Ryan Kraft, and Travis Kraft.

Ms. Castner is also survived by one brother, Robert, husband of Betty Buskirk, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends that have touched her life in multiple ways.

She was born in Maspeth, New York to the late George J. and Harriet A. (Murphy) Buskirk.

Kathleen worked many years within the drug and alcohol intake rehabilitation centers. She also was an active member of Al Anon and sponsor for Alateen since 1971 and loved giving and helping everyone she came in contact with. Her greatest accomplishments were raising two wonderful children, and her many years sharing her story to all members within the program to help one and all live each day and trying and retrying to practice the 12 steps. A final message from an amazing woman: "Al Anon saved my life, I lived one day at a time and never looked back, baby steps forward, easy does it and always believe in your higher power. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change and the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Pass the message".
