Kathleen Ann Sharp

Kathleen Ann (Gehris) Sharp, 83, of Muhlenberg Township, died October 29, 2012 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

Born September 28, 1929, at home in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Nathan and Catherine Eliza (Shover) Gehris.

She was the wife of William Henry Sharp, who died November 5, 2003. They were married on September 27, 1952 and celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Kathleen graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1948 and was a member of the class' reunion committee. She also graduated from the Fannie Farmer School of Fine Cookery in Gloucester, Mass.

She was employed as an Avon sales representative and Christian education director at Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, where she was also an active member and volunteer, participating in the church's clown ministry and, most recently, as a lay communion visitor.

Kathleen was also a member of the Promised Land Protestant Community Church in the Poconos, in the community where she and her family had a second home for 43 years. Kathleen was a volunteer at Promised Land State Park, helping in the park's museum and Art in the Park program.

Surviving are two daughters: Nancy Jane Sharp of Gap, PA and Wendy S. Sharp of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include two sisters: Mary Jane (Gehris), wife of the late Robert Shunk of Pottstown and Nancy (Gehris), wife of Jon Maxwell Keller of Kutztown and four nephews and one niece.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave., Laureldale, PA 19605. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be private in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
