Katherine E. "Kitty" (Emmons) Trexler, 89, of Phoebe Berks Village, 1 Reading Drive, Apt 45, Wernersville, Pa 19565, formerly of 15 South Franklin Street, Fleetwood, died April 20th at 3:45 p.m. in the Phoebe Berks Village Health Care Center where she had been since March 22nd.

She was the wife of Dr. Ethan L. Trexler.

Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, she was the foster child of the late Henry and Rachel (Williams) Eves.

She was a 1933 Liberty High School, Bethlehem and a 1937 graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She later did her graduate work in obstetrics at New York Hospital at Cornell Medical Center.

Trexler was a registered nurse for 41 years at the office of her husband, Dr. Ethan L. Trexler of Fleetwood before retiring in 1980.

She was a member of St. John's Hains United Church of Christ, Wernersville.

Trexler was a former member, deacon and choir member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.

She was also a 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 336, Kutztown.

Trexler was a member of the Alumni Association of Allentown General hospital.

She is also survived by two daughters, Carolyn L. (Trexler) wife of Walter R. Christ, Muhlenberg Township and Nancy G. (Trexler) wife of Rev. Dr. Larry Winkler of Longmont, Colorado.

Other survivors include a half-brother, Charles Ray of Kingston, Luzerne County and a half-sister, Emily (Ray) Thomas of Egg Harbor, New Jersey.

There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 am in the Chapel at Phoebe Berks Village. Rev. Barry Galley and Rev. L. Eugene Moyer officiating. Viewings Thursday 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale and Friday in the Chapel from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Phoebe Berks Village, 1 Reading Drive, Wernersville, Pa 19565.
