Katherine P. Lountzis

Katherine P. "Katie" Lountzis, of Spring Township, passed away February 19, 2014, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus.

Her husband, Nicholas J. Lountzis, Jr., died in 1987.

Born in Vlahokerasia, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Petros and Alexandra (Karkalas) Petrakis.

She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading, where she was a member of the St. Xenia Philoptochos Society.

Katie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.

She is survived by her three children: Anna K., wife of Dr. James W. Manley, Northampton; Alexandra, wife of Michael P. Cavaliere, Collegeville; and Nicholas J. Lountzis, III, Reading. Also surviving are her sister, Vaso Hemrich, Wyomissing; and her four grandchildren: Alexandra, James, Peter, and Melina.

Katie was predeceased by her siblings: Georgia Petropoulos and Elias Petrakis.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Church at the above address. Edward J.
