Kaare E. Nodland

Kaare E. Nodland, 81, of Cumru Township, passed away January 19, 2013 in his residence.

He was married to Synnove (Fossum) Nodland on March 31, 1956.

Born in Haugesund, Norway, Kaare was a son of the late Mikal and Serine J. (Samdal) Nodland.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and worked as a Civil engineer for Gilbert Associates for 26 years and also American Crane and Equipment for 4 years.

Kaare proudly served in the Norwegian Army.

He loved sailing his 31 foot Beneteau every chance he got, traveling much of the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition to his loving wife, Kaare is survived by his three children; Wenche, wife of Bob Bonini, Johnstown, Mette, wife of the late Richard Gleason, Mohnton, and Bengt Nodland, husband of Brenda, Reading.

He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Erik Bonini, Alex Bonini, Nick Bonini, Alyssa Gleason, Brigitte Gleason and Brandon Nodland.

Kaare was predeceased by his sister Hjordis Drange.

Services will be Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 730 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kaare's memory to Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
