June Zerr

June (Frech) Zerr, 90, of Laureldale died December 16, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.

She was the wife of Ralph E. Zerr who died October 17, 1993.

Born October 7, 1921 in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Frederick and Pearl Emily (Dengler) Frech.

June was employed as a waitress with People's Drugs, W.T. Grant and McCrory's, all of Reading. She retired in 1991.

She loved helping others, sharing time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved family get togethers.

She enjoyed spending time in the garden and doing ceramics after retirement.

Although June did not go to church regularly, she prayed every day, and tried to lived by the teachings of God and His commandments.

Surviving are two children: Patricia Ann (Zerr), wife of Alfred P. Haehnel of Bradenton, FL and Ralph E., husband of Sandra L. (Rippel) Zerr of Denver.

Other survivors include three sisters, Larue Casper of Douglassville, Betty Manjardi of Spring City and Mary Ann Pence of Pottstown.

There are also six grandchildren, Terri, Christopher, Victoria, Cathy, Penny and Steven and seven great grandchildren surviving.

June was also predeceased by a son, David J. Zerr, who died May 17, 1962 and a brother, Robert Frech.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
