June W. Mckently

June W. McKently, 77, of Wyomissing, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 1:00 am in the Highlands at Wyomissing where she was a resident since September 26th.

She was the wife of Gene R. McKently.

Born in Oley, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Earl G. and Dorothy H. (Hicks) Wolford.

She was a 1953 graduate of Oley Valley High School and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Oley.

Always with a smile when she greeted you, June also frequently indulged her passion for shopping.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Kim L., wife of Donald Mummert and her son: Kirk G. and wife Betty Jane McKently, both of Ruscombmanor Township. Also surviving are her sister: Jean W., wife of Henry J. Wagner of Annville and her grandchildren: Michael M., Meeka M., Jenny L. and Andrew J. as well as her great grandchildren: Jared D. and G. David.

She was predeceased by a daughter Kathy L. McKently on January 3, 2002 and a grandson: Marc M. McKently on February 9, 2011.

A Memorial Service will be held in Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main Street, Oley, Pa. 19547 on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private. Friends and family will be received on Friday from 4:30-7:00 pm in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the address above.
