June E. Bechtel

June E. Bechtel, 88, West Reading died Feb. 15 at 4:15 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient 10 days.

Her husband, Howard W. Bechtel, died in 1971.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James F. Haage Sr. and Florence E. (Schlemm) Haage.

She was employed for several years in retail sales by the Army-Navy Store, Muhlenberg Township, until her retirement.

Bechtel was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing.

Surviving is a son, Carl J. Smith, Morgantown, W.Va.

Other survivors include a brother, James F. Haage Jr., West Lawn; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
