Julia Helen Novitsky, 78, passed away April 20, 2013 in her Muhlenberg Township residence.
She was the loving wife of Donald Matthew Novitsky, whom she married 55 years ago on October 12, 1957.
Born in Tomhicken, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Wojcik) Brutosky.
She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Julia loved being outside and gardening. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, playing bingo and taking trips to the casino. She also liked to cook and bake and was a proud military wife.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her seven siblings: Francis Brutosky, Sugarloaf; Ralph Brutosky, Rock Glen; Mary R. Houser, Muhlenberg; Anna Pongrazzi, Nuremberg; Theresa Gottstein, Nuremberg; Joan Frey, Bloomsburg and Barbara Woodring, Sugarloaf.
Julia was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Brutosky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Additional services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in John J. Pusti Funeral Home, Inc., 480 West Broad St., Hazleton, PA 18201 with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
