Judy A. Simmons

Judy A. Simmons (Leinbach),74, of West Reading passed away in her home on September 1, 2021. She was married to Winston F. Simmons for 51 years.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Harry, Jr. and Alfretta (Epler) Leinbach.

Judy was employed by Wyomissing Area School District where she served as a cafeteria worker and a crossing guard for West Reading Elementary Center. During the summer she also worked at the West Reading Pool in concession stand.

Judy enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to casinos, Elvis, listening to the Oldies, and completing word searches. Judy belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Fire Company and was the president of the women's auxiliary for many years.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Tammy A. Simmons of West Reading; her nieces: Sabrina (Tyler) Rankin, Lorrie Luckenbill, Susan Scholl, and Kristie Grier; her nephews, David Evans and Jeff Ritter; her sister-in-law, Sheri Leinbach; her sister-in-law, Shirley (Marvin) Ritter and her grand-nephews Ryan and Anthony Rankin. Judy was predeceased by her brothers, David and Harry, III and sister-in-law Lyndel Leinbach.

Contributions in Judy's memory may be made out to March of Dimes.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home. The burial will take place at St. Paul Union Church Cemetery in New Schaefferstown.
