Judy L. Baratta

Judy L. Baratta, 53, died of natural causes June 23 in her residence at Dun Rovin Drive, Northville, Mich.

She was the wife of Andrew M. Baratta.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Elaine (Heffelfinger) Brisan, Wyomissing, and the late Paul Brisan.

Baratta was employed for the past 16 years as a teacher at the Kennedy Elementary School, Livonia, Mich.

In 2000-2001, she was selected elementary teacher of the year in the Livonia School District.

Baratta was a 1967 graduate of Wyomissing High School and a 1971 graduate of Kutztown State College. She received her master's degree from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti.

She was a member of the Northridge Church, Plymouth, Mich.

Baratta is also survived by a sister, Janet L. (Brisan) Heist, Wyomissing; and three brothers: Jeffrey L. and Mark J. Brisan, both of Wyomissing; and Gregory P., Houston.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
