Judith Anne Szymborski

Judith Anne (nee Sergeant) Szymborski, 74, of Sinking Spring was called home to the Lord on July 12, 2014 surrounded by family, prayers and love.

She is survived by her devoted and faithful husband, Alfred A. Szymborski, to whom she was married 56 years. Together, they demonstrated a true example of an enduring marriage.

She is also survived by her six children: James G., husband of Gloria Szymborski, Fleetwood; John M. Szymborski, companion of Lisa Brendle, Spring Township; Joseph G., husband of Beverly Szymborski, Spring Township; Mary Kay, wife of Jeff Wade, Leesport; Theresa G. Szymborski, wife of Robert Pratt, Muhlenberg Township; and Geralyn, wife of Luis Fernandez, Sr., Spring Township. She is also lovingly survived by nine grandchildren for whom she was extremely proud of each and every one: Timothy, Amanda, Tristan, Heather, Adam, Alex, Jovan, L.J., and Ellis.

She also will be greatly missed by her sisters Elizabeth Loeper and Rita, wife of Edgar Martin, and her brother, Jack Sergeant.

Judy was predeceased by a newborn child, Geralyn Marie, and grand-daughter Lisa Wade.

Originally of Mount Penn, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Rita V. (Lenhardt) Sergeant.

She was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School and had a number of jobs including Pomeroy's & Boscov's Department stores as well as retiring from R. M Palmer Co. with over 30 years of service. However, despite the many jobs she had, her favorite job was that of wife, mother and supportive grandmother, otherwise affectionately known as Baci.

Baci had many interests and talents throughout the years that she enjoyed. She liked summer beach vacations when her children were young, bowling with her husband as well as a spirited game of pinochle with family. She also appreciated the simple indulgence of going to her favorite hairdresser weekly and watching the Detroit Tigers with her loving husband. She was always sure to attend her grandchildren's school events and birthday parties. Baci was also uniquely skilled at finding a great bargain at her favorite outlet store(s), mending most any garment and was an excellent cook. The only thing her family enjoyed more than her homemade polish galumpkies, was her rich chocolate cake with vanilla icing. Anyone who knew & loved Judy, or "Baci", knew that you could depend on her when you needed her.

Baci was a woman of humble, quiet and reverent faith. She attended worship services on a regular basis and prayed with deep dedication. Her actions & faith in her Lord and Savior was a shining example to many.
