Judith Lyn Yeager

Judith L. Yeager (Schmitt), 81, originally from Philadelphia passed away on September 2nd, 2026 surrounded by her family who adored her wholeheartedly.

Judy was born on May 6, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the eldest daughter of the late John T. Schmitt and Betty Bradford Schmitt. She graduated from Murrell Dobbins Vocational High school in 1962. After graduating, she worked as a secretary for Fidelity and Beneficial in downtown Philly. She loved taking the subway to work and thoroughly enjoyed working with the ladies in the office.

On June 4, 1964, she married the love her life, Joseph Yeager. They met in sixth grade and what started out as a friendship turned into 62 years of marriage. They started their family and established their roots in Northeast Philly. Although, she was not Catholic, it was important to send all of her 7 children to Catholic school. One of the many sacrifices she did for her family.

We truly feel blessed that she was a stay at home mom but even more so, she was our anchor, our safe haven, our everything. Her family was her world. Her love and generosity were endless and it only flourished with her devotion to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was everyone’s home. Whether it was in the Cottman house, the Shelly house or the mountain house, she made you feel safe, loved and wanted.

Her conversations were inquisitive and she always made sure you were fed and comfortable.

Judy’s hobbies were her family's hobbies. Our biggest cheerleader. She treasured being present in our lives as much as life would allow. Family traditions, time at the shore and the mountains gives us a lifetime of memories we will cherish forever.

It goes without saying, she was a beautiful soul, inside and out. Always with her lipstick on, her Coco Chanel perfume, and her Burgundy nail polish. Even in the last days before her husband passed, she would apply her lipstick and get a squirt or two of perfume before she would go be with him at his bedside.

Besides spending time with family, she loved to garden, do puzzles and enjoy a good cup of morning coffee. It was a known fact that when you came into her house you would be greeted with her beautiful smile and the sound of the hallmark channel or her #1 go to…Murder, She wrote playing in the background. Mom passed along her lifelong love for the Bee Gees onto us which will forever be etched in our hearts. “Smile an everlasting smile can bring you near to me”.

Judy’s legacy will forever be intertwined in the love and dedication that she shared with her family. It’s a love like no other that we will continue to honor and carry with us throughout our lifetime.

In addition to her parents and her brother, Barry, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph A.

Yeager III and her loving husband, Joseph A Yeager II. It brings us comfort knowing that Dad was there to embrace her and that Joey was able to hug his precious turtledove.

She is survived by her children: Debbie Franks (Mike), Michelle Corson (Jimmy), Chris (Melissa), Jennifer Morrow (Mark), Amy Busa (John), and Jaime Jackson (Greg).

Her grandchildren: Matthew, Nicole, Connor, McCalee, Spenser, Kelsey, Haley, Anthony, Madelyn, Michael, Jacquelyn, Ava, Christopher, Giovanni, Joey, Matteo, Santino, Henry, Valentina, and James.

Her great grandchildren: Liam, Mary Lyn, Ella, Francis, Eva, Mathilde, Thomas, Graham, Jett, Goldie, Madelyn, and Sonny.

Her adoring siblings: John (Sue), Jeff (Barb), Stephen (Francine), Janet Davis (Pete), and Holly (John). Her sisters in law Carol Schmitt and Marleen Yeager. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
