Judith A. (Klemick) Jopp, 81, formerly of Spring Township, passed away peacefully July 19, 2021, in the care of Kutztown Manor nursing home after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rudolf H. Jopp, who passed on October 1, 2020. Born in West Reading, the daughter of the late Raymond and Zelma (Fraver) Klemick.
Judi graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957 and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. Married in 1961, her adventure as a Navy wife began. She worked as a nurse during those 20 years as Rudy pursued his Navy career and flourished raising three children during that time. After Rudy's Navy retirement in 1978, the family returned to their roots in Reading. There, she was employed by Wernersville State Hospital as a registered nurse and was also very involved at St. Ignatius Church. In retirement, Judi volunteered for Berks Visiting Nurses and she and Rudy helped out with Meals on Wheels together. The adventurous couple also traveled extensively during their years in Reading, skiing and sightseeing around Europe and the US. With endless energy, Judi enjoyed anything with her family, cooking and baking, especially Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, sewing and crafts. Also, she always had a particular compassion for her pets and animals. Judi was a warm, caring, hardworking selfless person who will be sincerely missed by all.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Cindy Westley, wife of Dennis, of West Chester; David Jopp, partner of Lori Scotnicki, of Hanover, NH, and Daniel R. Jopp, husband of Lisa (Unger) of Wyomissing; and six grandchildren: Lauren, Brooke, Sarah, Ashlee, Derek, and Dylan. She is also survived by Geoff Stark, her beloved cousin, of Ft. Myers, Florida. She was predeceased by her brother Gregory Klemick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola, Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St. Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609 with burial to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
