Juanita Rose Deal

Juanita Rose Deal, 90, of Mohnton, passed away December 24, 2014, at Kutztown Manor.

Born in Moorefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Bess and Ross Jones and beloved granddaughter of Rosa and William Jones.

Juanita played basketball at Romney High School and in her adult life was an accomplished bowler and swimmer.

She was a proud and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 251 West Reading where she served as a past Worthy Matron and was actively involved with those in need.

Juanita enjoyed caring for her home, family and flower garden. She also looked forward to vacationing with her family and best friend Josephine Neider in Ocean City, NJ.

Juanita is survived by the love of her life, Charles Deal, Havertown; her daughter, Joy A. Horowitz, Mohnton; four grandchildren, Kevin Horowitz, Birdsboro, Joy Abe, Venice, FL, A. Jason Horowitz, Norman, OK and Annah, wife of Michael Litzenberger, Abington, MA; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Joy Litzenberger and Mackenzie Faith Litzenberger; her two sisters, Marceda Rowzee, Levels, WV and Arita Ricewick, Greenspring, WV and countless family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her son, Dennis F. Abe.

Service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Mohnsville Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
