Joyce Helen Fisher

Joyce Helen Fisher, 81, passed peacefully at Wyomissing Rehab on February 20, 2021.

She was the loving widow of Ronald D. Fisher Sr.

Joyce was born in West Reading to the late Pharis and Margaret Holdeman. Joyce attended West Reading High School, and for many years she worked as a seamstress at both Kelray and L.A. Drapes. She was a lifetime member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher.

She met her husband, Ronald, as part of the West Reading Drum and Bugle Corps, also known as the West Reading Cadets. Joyce enjoyed traveling, especially to Lewes, DE, and Disney World. She enjoyed trips to the casino. She will be missed for her famous Christmas cookies.

Joyce's memory will be treasured by her children: William Fisher (Audrey) of Reading, Diane Harris (Jeffrey) of Wernersville, and Ronald D. Fisher, Jr. (Valerie) of Laureldale; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Fasnacht and brother, William Holdeman.

In addition to her husband, Joyce was predeceased by her daughter, Debbie Fisher, and her sisters Pat and Nancy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be offered to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA, 19508.

A celebration of life will be held for Joyce on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 2 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, 336 Franklin St, West Reading, PA 1961. Friends and family are invited to gather in the church from 1 pm until the start of services. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements.
