Joyce L. Brendle

Joyce L. (Fischer) Brendle, 67, Whitford Hills, died January 14, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the widow of Larry W. Brendle, who died December 7, 2007. They were married 46 years.

Born November 9, 1943, in West Reading, she was the daughter of Albert P. and Anna (Laury) Fischer, deceased.

She was a graduate of Wilson High School, West Lawn.

She was involved in Girl Scouts for many years. She and her husband loved camping with friends and family, traveling, especially to Bermuda and Maine. She did many crafts and loved to share them with her friends. Joyce and Larry also took in babies for the Catholic Social Organization after they were born and kept them in their home until they were adopted by their adoptive parents. It was a great joy in their lives.

She worked for the Mercator Corporation, Reading, for ten years.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Muhlenberg.

Surviving are two daughters, Sabrina, wife of Timothy Stutzman, Hyde Park and Melanie, at home.

She is also survived by one brother, Kenneth, husband of Elizabeth (McCrory) Fischer, Jamaica Estates, NY.

Also, she is survived by two grandchildren, Cade T. and Kyla L. Stutzman.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Laurieanne J. Brendle in 1988.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
