Josephine E. Spotts

Josephine "Jay" Spotts, 88, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the companion and soulmate of David Lynam, who passed away in 2021.

She was born in Fort Washington to the late Joseph and Ernestine (Pileggi) Sparango. As a skilled cosmetologist and savvy businesswoman, Josephine ran her own salon for many years.

She was a beloved Mom-mom to many, Josephine was a talented cook and baker, particularly renowned for her Italian dishes, especially her pepperoni bread, spaghetti and meatballs, and Italian cookies. She took great joy in sharing food with others. Jay enjoyed going to the gym every morning at 5:30 and had many beloved friendships.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Kurt Angelichio, husband of Susan, of Temple, and Tina Angelichio, companion of Brian Greenwood, of Oriental, NC; stepchildren, David Lynam Jr, husband of Sarah, and Christine Lynam; grandchildren: Anthony Angelichio, husband of Olivia; Jessica Angelichio; Tara Jean Yurkovitz; David, Johnathan, Calvin, and Kearstyn; great-grandchildren, Jyovani and Adelina. Over Jay's lifetime she embraced and loved extended family and had children and grandchildren she held dear to her heart.

In addition to her parents, and her beloved partner, David, Jay was predeceased by her sister, Marianne Pinterich.
