Josephine M. Sarti

Josephine M. Sarti, 72, of Clematis Street, Sinking Spring, died Oct. 9 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

Her husband, Charles F. Sarti, died March 20, 2001.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Saglibene) Guidara.

Sarti was the co-owner of Sarti's Sandwich Shop, Reading, for 30 years, retiring in 1992.

She was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.

Sarti was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Surviving are a son, Charles J., at home; and three daughters: Charlene R. (Sarti) Kurland, Baltimore; Gina M. (Sarti) Kristick, Malvern, Chester County; and Noreen L. (Sarti) Shappell, at home.

Other survivors include a brother, Joseph Guidara, Exeter Township; and two sisters, Angie (Guidara) Jastrzembski, Pennside, and Betty (Guidara) Bricker, Shillington.

There are also three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
