Josephine Mary (Guziejewski) Moczydlowski, 79, died November 3, 2007 at 2:02 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she was taken following a fire in her Reading residence.
She was the wife of Edward Alexander Moczydlowski, whom she married April 26, 1953.
Born September 10, 1928 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Mary Sophie (Kiwak) Guziejewski.
She was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School, a graduate of Reading Business Institute and attended Stetson University in Florida.
Josephine was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a former Choir Member and Soloist.
She was a professional musician her whole life, playing the violin 35 years with the Reading Symphonie and was a member of the Reading Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestras and the Allentown, Harrisburg and Pottstown's Symphonies.
Josephine was also a private instructor, teaching both the violin and piano for many years.
She also spent several years employed with Dr. John G. Meharg, Sr., Reading as a medical transcriptionist.
Josephine is also survived by three children, Edward J. Moczydlowski of Reading, Janet E. wife of Daniel McCormick of Honeybrook, Chester County and Cindy Moczydlowski of Cumru Township.
Other survivors include a sister, Margaret A. (Guziejewski) wife of William H. Beltz of Reading; a son-in-law, Jack Shoustal of Exeter Township and five grandchildren; Jacqueline Shoustal, Elizabeth Shoustal, Rebecca Shoustal, Nicole McCormick and David McCormick.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan K. Shoustal, who died August 12, 2007 and a sister, Genevieve Soltysik, who died in September, 1996.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 501 Summit Ave., Reading, PA 19611, with the Rev. Richard E. Nachajski and Rev. Stanley M. Moczydlowski celebrating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
