Josephine M. Franz

Josephine M. Franz, 92, formerly of Reading, died July 6, 2007 in Lourdes Nursing Home, Waterford, MI.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Michael A. and Winifred (McHale) Franz.

She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1932 and of Kutztown State Teachers College in 1936. Later, she earned her Master's Degree in Education from Temple University.

She was an Elementary School Principal for the Reading School District for 35 years retiring in 1975.

Josephine is survived by her niece, Winifred A. wife of Richard Auchter, Clarkston, MI. There are also two grand-nephews, John Auchter, Grandville, MI and Michael Auchter, Huntington Woods, MI; and one grand-niece, Kristen (Auchter) Camilli, Sharon, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 237 Franklin Street Reading, PA 19602. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
