Josephine M. Ganter, 85, of Arlington Street died Oct. 12 at 1:20 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where she had been a patient three days.
Her husband, Donald J. Ganter, died Feb. 25, 1995.
Born in Birdsboro, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Antonia (Falconetti) Quaglia.
Ganter was employed for 29 years as an examiner by Berkshire Knitting Mills, retiring in 1963.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Ganter is survived by a son, James Cooney, Reading; and four daughters: Debra J. (Ganter) Gernert and Margaret (Cooney) Tracey, both of Lenhartsville; Donna J. (Ganter) Medaglia, Birdsboro; and Catherine Cooney, Denver, Lancaster County.
Other survivors include a brother, Dominic P. Quaglia, Reading.
There are also four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. The Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
