Joseph Vincent Yakaitis

Joseph Vincent Yakaitis, 87, of Temple, died March 8, 2010 in his son, James' residence.

He was the husband of Ann Elizabeth Gillis who died October 27, 1970.

Born July 25, 1922 in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Adolph and Veronica (Shatkus) Yakaitis.

Joseph was employed as a welder with Dana Corp. for 30 years retiring in 1978. After retirement he worked as a security guard with David Crystal from 1980-1986.

He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.

Joseph was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

He was also a member of Catholic War Vets, New Philadelphia and a social member of Temple Fire Company, Temple.

Joseph is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Yakaitis of Harrisburg and James D., husband of Barbara L. (Michael) Yakaitis of Temple.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Yakaitis.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
