Joseph L. Vath, 94, Shillington, died Jan. 17 at 8:42 a.m. in the Wyomissing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Reading.
He was the husband of Arlene (Boone) Vath.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Leonard and Gertrude (Braun) Vath.
Vath was employed as an administrator by Berks County Trust Co.; a broker by Investors Diversified Services, Reading; manager of Waterbor Inc., Reading; and was the owner of Lee Truckcar Rental, Williamsport, Lycoming County. He was last employed as an accountant by Delp Foods, retiring in 1979.
He was a 1928 graduate of Reading High School and attended the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Vath was a member of St. John Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
He is also survived by two sons, Frederic B., Lancaster, and Michael B., Easton; and a daughter, Kathleen M. (Vath) Campbell, Malvern, Chester County.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mary (Vath) Adam and Josephine (Vath) Kershner, both of Reading.
There are also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
