Joseph A. Spangler

Joseph A. Spangler, 79, of Millmont died on Monday, April 9 in Reading Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 29, 1938 in Reading, Joe was a son of the late Harrison and Julia (Marciniak) Spangler.

A Reading High School graduate, Joe served his nation valiantly in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He will be buried with full military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville.

After leaving the service, Joe worked as a steelworker for over 44 years at Hoffmann Industries, Inc., Sinking Spring, retiring in 1999.

Joe is survived by his sister Martha Moser, his brother James C. Spangler, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mary V. Gilar, and brothers Harrison J., Franklin C., and Stanley M. Spangler.

Joe's Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm this Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA. Friends may call from 2:30 until the start of the service.
