Joseph S. Sarzynski, Sr., 88, of Flying Hills, went home to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on October 19, 2017, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Michael M. and Stephanie (Dymsza) Sarzynski.

Joe was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School, and the McCann School of Business in Mahanoy City.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict.

Joe was employed by Dana Corp., Conrail, Branch Motor Express, and served as an independent agent for Inway, which later became Landstar-Inway, retiring in 1998.

He loved pool, golf, and horse racing; was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, and loved his family. He loved spending time with and appreciated his children's rescued animals and valued his time with his friends at Dunkin Donuts.

Esther (John) Bushkie, Shillington; and Mary Ann (The Honorable A. Joseph) Antanavage, Strausstown, two grandchildren: Melissa Sarzynski and Andrea Lynn Kinzey; two nephews, Dan Horton and Mark Bushkie, and four nieces Beth Ann Bushkie, Alexa and Ann Antanavage, Diane Dewey Virginia Beach, VA. His former wife, Sharon M. Zdradzinski, Reading also survives him.

He was predeceased by one son, Michael T. Sarzynski, on July 8, 2007, and his daughter, Lynn Ann's twin sister, Lisa Ann, on September 13, 1963. Joe was also predeceased by his three brothers: John, Walter, and Daniel Sarzynski; and one nephew John Bushkie.
