Joseph P. Moyer

Joseph P. Moyer, 94, of Spring Township, passed away January 23, 2021, at the Reading Hospital.

He was the loving husband of Anna C. (Sieber) Moyer.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Stivic) Moyer.

Joseph was a graduate of Wyomissing Poly Tech Institute.

Joseph served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Air force.

He was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills as a textile machinist and later for Western Electric as a section chief.

Joseph was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joseph was most happy when his family was all together for dinners, vacations, or special occasions. He also enjoyed going to Rehoboth Beach, DE; dancing and listening to Polka music.

Joseph was a member of the VFW and the Reading Liederkranz.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Doreen Ann (Dan) Fura, Wyomissing, Bruce (Rhonda) Moyer, Exeter and Joseph (Deborah) Moyer, Naples, FL; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four siblings: Johnny Moyer, Elsie Hummel, Caroline Fleischood and Theresa Lash.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic family is requesting that only immediate family members be in person at the funeral home for the visitation and service. However, a live steam viewing will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. with Prayer Services to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Entombment will be at the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.
