Joseph Mollica, 86, formerly of Wyomissing, died July 1 at 2:10 p.m. in Grace Mansion Assisted Living, Bethlehem, where he had resided since Sept. 3.
He was the husband of Angela V. (Vespico) Mollica, also a resident at Grace Mansion.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Antonina (Ariggo) Mollica.
Mollica was employed for 25 years as a knitter by Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing, and was last employed for 25 years by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk, retiring in 1982 from the Sinking Spring office.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, where he was an usher.
Mollica was a 1934 graduate of Reading High School.
An Army veteran of World War Ii, he received the Purple Heart.
Mollica was a past treasurer of the Polish-Falcons Alliance of Berks County.
He is also survived by a daughter, Antonina M. (Mollica) Kulp, Bethlehem.
Other survivors include three sisters: Josephine Mollica and Mary (Mollica) Cappadona, both of Wyomissing, and Frances (Mollica) Gitto, Fleetwood.
There are also five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
