Joseph A. Miller, 96, of Spring Township, passed away April 4, 2014 in Berks Heim.
He was the husband of Violet K. (Dombrosky) Miller, whom he married almost 63 years ago on June 30, 1951.
Born November 16, 1917 in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary K. (Burkey) Miller.
He was a 1936 graduate of Tamaqua High School.
Joseph worked as a sales representative for 36 years for Borden Foods Co, retiring in 1979.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving for over 4 years. He fought in England on D-Day and also fought in France and Germany. He earned the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart Medal, and finished his military career as a Technical Sergeant.
Joseph was an avid fisherman and traveling to Canada and Europe.
He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, Shillington.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Patricia Bunting, East Petersburg. Also surviving are his two grandchildren: Kimberly R. Bunting, Los Angeles, CA; and Christopher W. Bunting, Lancaster.
Joseph was predeceased by his brother, John Miller, and his sister, Florence Shock.
