Joseph Mcelroy

Dr. Joseph R. McElroy, 85, of Wyomissing, passed away on May 25th at the Highlands of Wyomissing.

He is the husband of Eileen A. (Garside) McElroy.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Owen and Anne (McNulty) McElroy.

He was a graduate of Brooklyn Prep School in 1940. He graduated from St. John's University in 1943, and Columbia University School of Dentistry in 1946.

Dr. Joseph McElroy owned his own practice, in Seaford, NY, for 36 years until his retirement in 1985.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by one son, Brian P. husband of Catherine McElroy, Wyomissing, and four daughters, Mariann wife of Sebastian Ventimiglia, Havenhill, Mass, Kathleen (McElroy) Head, Columbia, SC, Patricia wife of Michael Reardon, Dove Canyon, CA, and Michaela wife of George Beitzel, Mt. Kisco, NY.

There are also 13 grandchildren.

There will be private services at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
